This is an OK place for lunch, with comfy sofas and a bar, but your guide will need to have made a booking. Though this hotel is primarily used as a restaurant, there are also basic, overpriced rooms available. It’s in the central bazaar area of town.

Standard accommodation is available here in clean and cosy pine-clad rooms, with hot-water bathrooms, heaters and, on the upper floors, balconies. An excellent photo album in the restaurant has information on outlying monasteries, including WantsaGoemba, a short walk behind the resort. SoednamZingkha is 10 room Guest House converted from the traditional ancient house, set against a backdrop of evergreen pine trees, below the shadows of snow-capped mountains. There is a Choesham (the altar room), where you can spend time in meditation. Few rooms have attached bath, which are usually reserved for the elder guests and guest with young children.
